1. Mundopa Distant, 1906 taxonomy

Mundopa Distant, 1906 is currently considered as a valid taxon of genus rank in the family Cixiidae Spinola, 1839 of the Fulgoromorpha. This genus was first described by Distant W. L. in 1906 in the following paper: The fauna of British India, including Ceylon and Burma.3: 1-503.

It is currently classified in order Hemiptera Linné, 1758, suborder Fulgoromorpha Evans, 1946, superfamily Delphacoidea Leach, 1815, family Cixiidae Spinola, 1839, subfamily Cixiinae Spinola, 1839, tribe Oecleini Muir, 1922.

Currently 19 species have been described in Mundopa, as summarized in Table 1.

According to the geographical TDWG standard (2001), Mundopa Distant, 1906 are known from the Oriental and Palaearctic biogeographical regions as defined by Wallace (1876). More precisely, they are distributed in the Eurasian, Indo-Malayan and Oriental zoogeographic regions as defined by Holt (2013).
